One of the things I miss a lot from home is the sun. I am a sunny person and I love sunny days. And I can hear you all asking. What the hell are you doing in Liverpool/England? I get asked a lot. And my answer is always a “Clearly not because of the weather”
To be honest, I don’t mind the cold, I kinda got used to it. What bothers me is the fact that there are only about 2 sunny days a month. I’m not a morning person but when I wake up and it’s sunny, I don’t even mind being up at 7 am. It’s sunny and I’m in a good mood.
Today is the third day in a row that is sunny in Liverpool. Very unexpected since the weather is rubbish compared to this time last year. It’s still cold and grey. Yesterday
I was lucky that I finished work earlier and I got to enjoy the sun. Normally, on my days off its raining or cloudy. So anyway, I met two of my friends in the afternoon so we could go for a drink in the sun. For those who don’t know Liverpool, let me just tell you something. There is a lot of places where you can sit outside. There are restaurants with an outside area, there are beer gardens, there are rooftop bars and a gin garden. So you’d think there’s a lot of places you can go to have an outdoor drink right? WRONG!! Since we don’t get much sun here, people go mental when the sun’s out. L1 was full of people. The new addition to Chavasse Park, The Club House didn’t have a free seat. And their outdoor area is massive. All restaurants in L1 were full. Bierkeller had no free tables. Even the park had loads of people. Just sat on the floor and catching some rays. Everyone was out enjoying the nice weather, and the girls and I just wanted to do the same.
And then we remembered there’s Oh Me Oh My. A rooftop bar on Water Street with a great view of the Liver Building. So we walked there. And it was so busy we didn’t have a place to sit, so we just sat on the floor, which we didn’t mind as there were cushions. And it was lovely. The view is absolutely breathtaking (I could look at the Liver Building all day) and the space is super cool. It could have more sitting spaces for when it’s busier but it was fine. Drinks wise, I think the selection could be better, but the bar is not very big. I tried the Strawberry and Kiwi GT and it was nice. Overall, I loved it and would definitely go back again.
Luckily enough, today is an amazing day again and I’m off! I’m leaving you with some pictures we took yesterday and enjoy this lovely weather while it lasts.
Hope you all have a wonderful day.
